Description
After graduating from the Cistercian high school in Pécs, Pécsi-Pilch continued his art studies first in Budapest and then in Munich. After returning home, he had big success with his painting "Twilight", and became a regular teacher at the College of Fine Arts. Together with Károly Lyka and István Réti, they worked on the reorganization of the college. In the beginning, he created naturalistic paintings with animals (Hussar stable, Falcon hunting). From the twenties his palette became more colorful under the influence of Vaszary. The bright color effect adopted from the spirit of French expressionism accompanies his artwork, in which landscapes and still lifes follow each other. The "Lady in Green Dress" painted with oil on canvas shows the style of art-deco. We see an elegant young lady standing in an upstairs window. Her dresses according to the fashion of the period: she has yellow gloves on his hands and a flapper hat "pushed" on his head. A loosely draped scarf covers her shoulders, covering her seductive breasts and cleavage. The model of Pécsi-Pilch, standing proudly, exudes confidence. Her hands on the hip look the impression that she knows her own beauty. This woman is not shy at all, she knows what she wants. The modern type of woman of the 20th century. The background is a pastel-colored street painted glaze as a sign, because the focus is on the "Lady in Green Dress". Dezső Pécsi-Pilch wants to represent the image of the world his time. The elegance, clarity, and modernity without we could not even talk about the art-deco style.
